There are currently TWO
venues in England that I can recommend on this page. Scarning Dale and The
Hawthorns Hotel in
Glastonbury, England.
The
Hawthorn's Hotel in Glastonbury was a pure pleasure to stay at. The owner is
also an award winning chef. I was bowled over by the experience! Check out
their web site at:

Scarning Dale, in Dereham, Norfolk, England was one of the Venues
that we used in Norfolk, England. This is a fantastic place, filled with love
and magic! I hope to go back one day. These photos do not begin to do it
justice!

For a
delightfully
different holiday experience,
An overnight stay in peaceful countryside,
Or an unusual venue
for that special party
The Delights Of Scarning
Dale
Scarning
Dale is a wonderful, heavily timbered house with Inglenook fireplaces that dates
way back to the 17th century. It is set at the end of a long drive, flanked by
beech hedges. In the grounds are the remains of what is reputed to be part of
the Abbey of Wendling, founded by Sir William de Wendling in 1267.

We have accommodation for
six people in the house, which is for you to make yourself feel at home. We know
that this family atmosphere is much appreciated by people who come to stay by
themselves, whether on holiday or visiting Norfolk on business. The single guest
can relax in the Music Room, enjoy a book in the Library, or perhaps join
another guest for a quiet game of snooker or table tennis, or simply spend an
evening in front of a blazing log fire in the winter, or sit in the garden on a
summer evening.
All meals are home cooked and we always use fresh vegetables grown in our own
kitchen garden, depending on the season.
For visitors who do not
want to be separated from their pets, we have a range of self-catering
facilities, each with their own garden. These are available on a bed
and
breakfast basis at certain times.
There are lots of delightful walks both locally and further afield.
We can arrange private
dinner parties and dinners in the house for about 16 people. We have a converted
barn that we use for business meetings, large parties and wedding receptions.
The barn will take up to 150 people. To make a booking or for further
information, please give us a ring.
You are assured of a warm welcome at Scarning Dale,
Your Norfolk Home from Home.
Self-catering
Holidays
There are five self-catering cottages in the grounds of Scarning Dale which
sleep between two and six people, Rose Cottage, which sleeps two, is suitable
for the partially disabled.
Each cottage has its own garden, equipped with garden furniture. Guests are
welcome to bring their pets by prior arrangement. There are excellent safe walks
for exercising dogs and their owners.
Guests can use the indoor swimming pool without charge for one hour each day;
longer swims will be charged at normal rates.
Receptions and
Meetings
Wedding receptions can be held in our converted barn. The barn can be used for a
wide range of functions for up to 150 people. It is ideal for business seminars
and large gatherings.
Small parties and private dinners can be held in the dining room of the main
house.

Activities at
Scarning Dale
Guests at Scarning Dale can use the heated pool, play snooker or table tennis.
The 25 acres surrounding Scarning Dale are a bird watcher's paradise and an
inspiration to painters. Art weekends can be provided by arrangement and an art
teacher is in residence on Wednesday mornings during school terms.
Where to Go and What to See:
Scarning Dale is ideally located for
visiting the
many attractions and to savour the scenery
of Norfolk and Suffolk.
There is also much to do and see on the doorstep.
